Historical American Hero Figure Sculpture

George Washington

12 feet tall total height
Cumberland, Maryland

Poised on a hand crafted stone pedestal, reflective of the mountain location, the seven foot tall bronze figure of Washington looks westward to the expansion he envisioned.  Here he is depicted as a young officer in the Virginia Militia.   The statue is located at the site of Fort Cumberland, an outpost during the French and Indian War.

Much research went into the representation of Washington’s features, clothing and arms. He stands as a man early in his career at the onset of the war that defined his future .
